Storyline:

Four misfit teenagers join forces to save the world when an alien invasion interrupts their summer camp.

User review:

After watching a series of less-than-stellar kids movies with my kids in recent months, it is a real joy to come across a movie that is exciting, engrossing, sometimes heartwarming and never boring. Fair word of warning: this is not for little kids. It is far too scary and even gory at times. Lots of characters meet unpleasant deaths and there is some raw emotion on display. These aliens are definitely NOT cute and cuddly. Quite a few of the adult characters aren’t very pleasant either. The film does tend to take a good 30 minutes to decide if it’s going to be a comedy/teen movie or an action/adventure one, but it ends up choosing the latter and is better because of it. Older kids and tweens will lap this up and, for once, parents won’t be looking at their watches and yawning. If you and your older kids enjoyed a movie like, say, the recent version of Stephen King’s ‘It’, then they are ready to enjoy this too.
