Storyline:

Compilation of archive footage from 1919 to the present, from both documentary and fictional sources, set to music, illustrating the huge changes in LGBTQ life in Britain (mainly England) over the 20th century.

User review:

This is a compilation of clips of film and tv that illustrate how gay people have been presented in the media in the UK. There are some great clips here that I’d really like to be able to hunt down and watch, but unfortunately none of them are acknowledged by title so I was only aware of the ones I’d already seen. In addition, the soundtrack consists entirely of songs by John Grant; after the first two tracks I’d had enough of the treacly, folksy lyrics and it became annoying. It would be great if someone could list some of the films that are highlighted here; I was able to recognize “The Family Way” “The Leather Boys,” “Victim,” “The Servant,” “The Killing of Sister George” and a couple of others, but there were probably ten more I wasn’t familiar with at all and would like to see.
