Storyline:

12-year-old Jonas takes on the responsibility for his two younger siblings when their mother abandons them. Alone and isolated inside the house, they start to drift away into their own fantastic world that soon becomes more like a haunted castle.

User review:

A fantasy using as start point a family crisis. The eerie atmosphere, the hypothesis of a long time independent children life, the stranger as master for new perspective about life, the neurotic mother and the so mature 12 years old boy are pieces to define the film as a fairy tale , proposing the fantastic, myths and ambiguous suggestions . A beautiful , not comfortable, bitter and special film. About family. About childhood. About options. And, sure, about the manner to define yourself. Short, a sort of Sweden buffet. Or only a fairy tale with many ways.
